("AEA" or "Equity", founded in 1913, is the labor union that represents more than 45,000 Actors and Stage Managers in the United States. Equity seeks to advance, promote and foster the art of live theatre as an essential component of our society.


American Alliance for Theatre & Education
AATE promotes standards of excellence in theatre and theatre education and supports the power of the creative experience. AATE connects educators, artists, researchers, scholars and administrators, and provides opportunities for members to learn from each other, and exchange and diversify their practices, their audiences, and their perspectives.

Illinois Arts Alliance

Illinois Arts Council
For over 35 years the Illinois Arts Council (IAC) has been instrumental in supporting Illinois' highly acclaimed and diverse cultural community. Thousands of partnerships throughout our history have helped to maintain the highest standards of excellence in the arts while expanding the accessibility of this artistic wealth to children and adults in every corner of the state. The IAC recognizes and supports not-for-profit arts organizations, community programs, schools, universities and individual creative artists through grant programs, technical assistance, workshops and special initiatives every year.

Illinois Alliance for Arts Education
The Illinois Alliance for Arts Education is a non-profit organization of arts educators in dance, drama, music and visual art.  Their mission is to ensure high quality arts education for all Illinois students, grades K-12.

Illinois High School Theatre Festival
The Illinois High School Theatre Festival is the largest & oldest non-competitive high school theatre festival in the world. The three-day Festival takes place every year in early January, and switches locations annually between the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Illinois State University. Each year, over 4,000 students, teachers, university representatives, exhibitors, and volunteers come together for three days to put on over 25 different high school productions and over 150 workshops. Other highlights include college/university auditions for high school seniors, professional development for teachers, a student film festival, and the annual All-State Production, featuring student cast, crew, and orchestra members from across the state.

Provides a broad range of professional services and support to theatre educators and their students.
