Puppetry workshop-Creating Hand and Rod Puppets Schedule

Saturday, March 2

9 am - introductions and in-house puppets

9:30 am - Using a current pattern and making it yours. AKA creating the character.

10 am - Choosing fabric and how to cut fur and sewing the fabric together

11:30 am - Cutting foam and creating the wire hand

12:30 pm - Lunch - Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant or the Student Union

2 pm - Safety discussion on the use of barge and then gluing foam and the mouth plate together. Continue sewing and prepping the puppet if you still need to finish it.

3:30 pm - Putting it all together! Trimming fur and attaching the arms

5:30 pm  -Done for day

Enjoy dinner at one of the local restaurants!

7:15 pm - Meet in Horrabin Lobby for tickets

7:30 pm - Cyclone the Musical at WIU

Sunday, March 3rd

10 am - Creating the character with eyes, ears, and nose

Noon - Lunch - On your own again or go as a group!

1 pm - Finishing the puppet and learning how to operate

3:30 pm - Finished for the day
