Second City Night Box Office Manager

The Second City Chicago is looking for a Night Box Office Manager Wednesday through Sunday nights. Responsibilities include both Administrative and Managerial work. Looking for Candidate with at least 2-3 years of customer service and Box Office ticket sales, self-motivated, organizational and leadership skills; written, verbal, and communication skills required. The Night Box Office Manager is responsible for supporting the Box Office Manager in maximizing revenue from the sale of tickets and ensuring the highest standards of customer care are maintained. This is a part-time position.

General Responsibilities:
Sales/ Administration

  • Supervising and carrying out the sale of tickets to the public.
  • Responding to customer queries in an informative and courteous manner.
  • Maximizing tickets sales and actively promoting the theatre and all its activities.
  • Supporting the Box Office Manager in providing an efficient and productive booking system for the public, including counter, phone and online sales.
  • Providing sales data and analysis plus reports to the company as required by the Box Office Manager.

Customer Care

  • Maintaining the box office as a friendly and welcoming environment for any visitors to the building.
  • Acting as liaisons between the Box Office and the Night Staff.
  • Dealing with customer comments and complaints in an appropriate manner and informing complaints to the Box Office Manager as appropriate.
  • Assisting the Box Office Manager in ensuring all box office information such as policies and opening hours are accurately and appropriately publicized via the website.

Staff management

  • Supporting the Box Office Manager in motivating the box office to maximize sales and provide high standards of customer care.
  • Assisting the Box Office Manager in ensuring the box office schedule and staffing appropriately.
  • Assisting the Box Office Manager in the training of box office staff, both at the induction stage and on an ongoing basis, to ensure standards are maintained and as required.
  • Provide coverage for box office staff when unforeseen circumstances arise.
