ITA’s 33rd Annual Auditions
1/28/12 and 1/29/12
INSTRUCTIONS FOR WALK-IN CANDIDATES
IMPORTANT
Before applying, read the Actors Information Sheet IN DETAIL so you know exactly what this event is about, where it is located and what to expect. Also review the Audition Page of the website and look through the Frequently Asked Questions.
To apply as a walk-in candidate, you must meet the following criteria:
- You must be available year-round (not summer only) and live in Illinois, or be willing to travel to Illinois (at your own expense) should an audition/casting opportunity arise.
- You must not be currently enrolled in college (unless you are graduating this Spring). Graduating college seniors and children (high school age and under) are allowed to attend.
- You must have 40 professional headshots/resumes. Look at the Actors Information Sheet for details on how to properly assemble these. We will NOT accept headshots that have been stapled, are not the right size, or are of a poor quality.
The ITA Executive Director and/or Audition Monitor reserve the right to refuse or cancel a walk-in request at any time at his/her discretion.
As a walk-in candidate, you are not guaranteed an audition slot; however, we will do our best to accommodate you. Please understand that you are “on call” and may be asked to audition immediately, or wait several hours.
Neatly fill out the Actors Application Form. Print it out and sign it.
Fill out the “Walk In Request Form.”
Arrive to the theatre early. Walk-ins will be seen on a first come, first serve basis.
When checking in, allow scheduled auditionees to check-in before you, as they are on a tight schedule. Inform the staff at the check-in desk you would like to be considered for walk-in status. Turn in your materials (Application and Headshots/Resumes) and have a seat near the check-in desk. Please remain patient. The ITA Executive Director will promptly review your application materials. If accepted, you will be given specific instructions at that time.
Musical Theatre Walk-Ins will only be placed into a dance group if the schedule permits. (Have comfortable clothing, or dance clothing, to change in to. Bring jazz shoes if you have them.)
Dress warm and bring food/beverage with you.
If you have any questions, please send an email to auditions@illinoistheatre.org. As we are receiving numerous calls and emails at the moment, please be patient. We will get back to you as quickly as possible.
